Plans in for Nottingham hotel and 240 rental flats

Construction & Build

Plans have been submitted for the first major phase of Nottingham’s biggest regeneration scheme for decades, The Island Quarter scheme.

Developer Conygar confirmed this morning it had submitted plans to build a 223-bed hotel providing both long and short-stay accommodation, over 240 build to rent flats, co-working space and an extensive food and beverage area.

The Phase 1b buildings will be located adjacent to the pavilion, phase 1a which gained consent last autumn and is being built by Sir Robert McAlpine.

Robert Ware, chief executive of Conygar said: “We are delighted to be able to submit our application for this exciting next phase of the Island Quarter.”

Conygar was granted outline planning consent for the £650m redevelopment of the former Boots Island site in April 2019.

The overall plans for the site will bring new homes, grade A office space, creative spaces, a lifestyle hotel, PRS apartments and co-working space, around a ‘linear’ park and event space as well as student accommodation to the city.
